Sykesville Fire Department

The city of Sykesville, MD (located about 20 miles outside of Baltimore) required a fueling system to service vehicles at their new West Friendship Fire Department and Emergency Response Station. The city was looking for a safe aboveground system which would blend in with the look of their new station. In addition, Sykesville wanted a 1000 gallon split tank (split into 250 gal. Gas & 750 gal. Diesel). This would allow them to refuel all of their fire, service and rescue vehicles in one location with a relatively small footprint.

Sykesville chose a ConVault AST because of the innovative design of tank. Constructed of steel and housed in an attractive 6 inch monolithic concrete enclosure, the UL 2085 ConVault tank is the safest tank on the market today. ConVault’s attractive exposed aggregate exterior allowed the tank to blend in nicely with the aesthetics of the new fire station. ConVault finishes come in thorocoat, epoxy-coated, architectural or exposed aggregate and help provide physical protection and lower maintenance costs. The concrete exterior and powder coated tank top fittings eliminate the problems of corrosion and rust associated with steel jacketed tanks. Each tank can be split into multiple sizes and configurations with dispensers and accessories pre-installed at the factory to minimize on-site time and expenses.
