A
Shift to Ethanol Blended Petroleum?
New state bans on methyl tertiary-butyl
ether (MTBE), continuing liability exposure from adding MTBE to
gasoline, new Federal renewable energy standards, tax credits, and
changes to rules governing gasoline additives have influenced suppliers
to shift from MTBE-blended reformulated gasoline (RFG) to
ethanol-blended petroleum RFG quicker than expected. That has tank
owners scrambling to evaluate and retrofit tanks to accept ethanol.

UL
971 Piping Standards. What Does Your State Allow?
Last summer PEI's performance
requirements went into effect for the "New UL 971" piping
standards for nonmetalic underground piping for flammable
liquids.
These new requirements cover primary carrier and
secondary containment nonmetallic pipe and fittings. Learn more about
UL 971 and see if your state allows "new" or "old" UL 971 listed

Veterans
Administration Recruits Core for Fuel Storage Upgrades
Recently, Core provided upgrades to the fueling system at the VA
Cemetery in San Joaquin California. Core’s pre-engineered fueling
systems allowed the VA to standardize on one tank configuration and fuel
management system at over 20 sites across the country, with only one
point of contact. In addition, Core’s GSA contract (GS07F-9110G) allowed
the VA to bypass the lengthy and often expensive government bidding
process. View our GSA Experience>> |
