The Scoop
On UL Regulations For E85 Fueling
As of Oct.
5, UL has suspended authorization to use UL markings (listing or
recognition) on components for fuel-dispensing devices that specifically
reference compatibility with alcohol- blended fuels that contain greater
than 15-percent alcohol.
Then after
another set of technical meetings in November, UL was unable to
establish a list of generically acceptable metals or non-metals for use
in E85 fueling systems.

The picture above ( taken in
2005) shows three fuel storage tanks installed in California in 1995.
The ConVault tank (on the right) with it’s low maintenance concrete
exterior does not rust or corrode like the two steel jacketed tanks on
the left. The ConVault tank was actually installed two months before
the steel jacketed tanks.

Provides A Truly "Mission Critical" Fueling System
A Unique Emergency Power System For Lahey Clinic
The
term "mission critical" is often used to describe emergency power
systems. For Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, which serves more than
3,000 patients each day and houses a 24-hour emergency department, a loss of power can literally
cause a life threatening situation for hundreds of patients. To guard
against this, Lahey called on Core Engineered Solutions to provide a
safe and secure emergency power fueling system which included
a state-of-the-art self commissioning Control Panel.

Ensuring Safe Fuel Storage Systems
Ensuring
uninterrupted power and safe dispensing systems begins with preventative
maintenance. With winter approaching now is the perfect time
to review your fuel storage safety and maintenance procedures.
ConVault aboveground storage tanks are covered with a low maintenance
concrete exterior which requires much less maintenance than traditional
steel tanks. Nonetheless, ConVault owners should still be performing regular
maintenance and inspections on their tanks as required by warranty and by many state/local
codes.
